Iris C. Kippins, 89, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2015 at her home with her family by her side.
Iris was born September 12, 1925, at Guyana, South America, the daughter of the late Moses and Amelia Prince.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Carlton Kippins, Neville Prince; two sister and five brothers.
Iris is survived by her children; Samuel (Patsy) Prince, Alouwin (Michelle)Thomas, Allan (Faye) Thomas, Gemleta (Jeffrey) Melton, Beverly (John) Lewis, Lyndon (Jacqueline) Thomas, Ovid (Jennifer) Thomas and Shellon Thomas-Kippins; her step children, Carmen, Pauline, Claudette, Joyce and Marilyn. She is the sister of; Edward and Jason Prince and Elnora Semple. She is also survived by twenty seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany County 445 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205 in Iris's memory.
Funeral Service will be on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 9:30 am at the Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 441 Washington Ave. Albany, NY. Calling hours will be Friday, March 13th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Additional calling hours will precede the service on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 at the church. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
