Albany- Irma V. McKeon passed away peacefully on Monday, August 23, 2010 on her 97th birthday. She was born in Ogdensburg, NY she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Blake Lagault.
Irma was a graduate of the Albany Business College. As a professional woman, Irma worked in credit information and collections for attorney, banks and retailers in the Albany area. She was an officer with several credit related associations. Irma loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, pinochle, reading and was intensely proud of being a dedicated volunteer at Child's Hospital for twenty years. A deeply devout catholic, Irma was a communicant of St. James Church for more than fifty years.
She was predeceased by her husband, John T. McKeon and her dear friend, Gary Esterr. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Elizabeth Guiry (late Champ), Susan (Ardison) Phillips and Patricia (Kirby) Hannan. She is the cherished grandmother of Patricia (David) Chambers, Dennis (Patty) Guiry, Coleen (Joe) Landers, Scott (Teresa) Guiry, Blake Hannan, Ross Hannan and the late Bailey McKeon-Phillips. She is the great grandmother of David, Michael, Kelly, Christopher, Patrick, Megan, Joshua, Anna and Bella. She is also survived by her favorite nephew Richard Kinne.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 on Wednesday morning at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Eagle St. & Madison Ave, Albany. Calling hours will be Wednesday morning from 9 to 10:30 at the Cathedral. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. In keeping with Irma's wishes, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
