COLONIE- Isabel Charlotte Cortesi, 93, of Colonie, passed away Thursday September 19, 2008 at Albany Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mrs. Cortesi was born in Dobbs Ferry, NY on September 14, 1915 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Fannie Severino. She was married to Guy Cortesi Sr. for 63 years prior to his death in December 1995. Isabel was a meticulous homemaker who made family the center of her life. She moved to Yorktown Heights, Westchester County, NY in 1961 and lived there for more than 30 years. Most recently, she very much enjoyed the Beltrone Living Center in Colonie, where she has lived since 2005.
Isabel was a member of the American Legion Post in Yorktown Heights, the Colonie Senior Citizens, the Beltrone Singers and had attended Loudonville Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn McMahon of Beach Haven, N.J.; a son Guy Cortesi of Latham; 2 sisters, 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Arthur, who died in 1995.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Loudonville Presbyterian Church in Loudonville on Saturday September 27, 2008 at 10am. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, Westchester County, NY. At the request of the family and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Loudonville Presbyterian Church, 22 Old Niskayuna Rd. Loudonville, NY 12211.
