Isabelle Ganter

April 19, 1926 — November 16, 2020

SCOTIA formerly of NISKAYUNA - Isabelle L. Ganter was born in Philadelphia, Missouri on April 19, 1926 and passed away quietly at the age of 94 on November 16, 2020 in the Baptist Care Center in Scotia N.Y. where she was cared for and lived for 13 years.

She was married to her Alton, Illinois High School sweetheart, William G. Ganter who passed away on April 10, 2008.
They were married for 65 years. The young couple "Billy and Izzy" were married in Ohio while Bill was in aviation school. It was December 24th, Christmas Eve in 1943. There were no family members present…but it was Christmas eve at wartime so the First Christian Church of Springfield, Ohio at 7:30 pm gave our parents "A Gift of Love", a full church wedding ceremony and reception…and sent them out to spread that love.

"Izzy" as most people knew her made many moves with her upwardly mobile husband and settles her children in their new home like an expert. In each new location they made new friends by attending a new church. They instantly became active members because Izzy knew her way around the church and its needs by helping with Bible studies, joining a Women's Circle, preparing food for potluck suppers, encouraging participation in raising money for missionaries. She always kept the focus on educating the children in the teachings of the Bible and the stories within.

When her children grew to adults, Izzy was able to take a job that suited her skills in the sewing and fashion arena. She was part of the staff at Marie Christine Bridal shop on Union Street in Schenectady, NY. A job she really enjoyed.
Soon her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren began to take center stage. She was always in touch and happy to attend plays, Halloween parties or sporting events. At times she had to travel some distance to be able to attend. But she knew a Grandma's love was always needed and appreciated.

The following family members that received her daily prayers and her experience deep spiritual nature know what is to miss her loving soul.
Her three children:
Larry (predeceased her in July 1993) and Erin Ganter of Keeseville, NY. JoEllen and Lou Culbertson of St. Louis MO
Pamela and Paul Seamans of New Smyrna Beach, FL; Her five Grandchildren and spouses: Andy and Christy Culbertson of Kirkwood, MO, Jody and Mike Richardson of Granger, IN, Sean and Jami Ganter of Keeseville, NY, Carrie and David Woodward of Plattsburgh, NY, and Josh and Lisa Seamans of Holly Ridge, NC. Her eight Great Grandchildren: Grant and Jake Culbertson, Emma Richardson Madeleine and Colby Woodward, Alana and Chase Ganter, Kai Seamans
