Rexford- James "Ed" Manuel, 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.
Ed was born on October 9, 1930 to the late Clarence and Eunice Manuel in Philadelphia, PA. Ed proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an aviator in both air planes and helicopters. After his service he continued his education and became an aeronautical engineer. He worked for Gyrodyne Company of America and then later in life worked as a professor at Farmingdale University teaching engineering courses. He was also a lifelong inventor and founder of the New York State Professional Inventors Association. He held numerous patents, ranging from oil booms to Evel Knievel's Bicycle Motocross.
He is predeceased by his brother, William Manuel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria, his children; James and his wife, Robbin, and Edward and his wife, Lisa, as well as 7 grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Coburg Village Adult Community, 1 Coburg Village Way, Rexford, NY 12148, on Sunday, December 13, 2015, from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Interment will take place at Saratoga National Cemetery on Monday December 14, 2015, at 10:00am.
