Jóna Gréta Kinsley - Gréta was reunited with the love of her life Bill Kinsley, when she found Heaven on January 2, 2024, surrounded by love from her family near and far.
Gréta was the daughter of the late Gísli Elís Einarsson and Margrét Þórarinsdóttir of Iceland. She grew up in Ísafjörður, a beautiful fjord on the northwest coast of Iceland. Gréta had an amazing, infectious personality that attracted so many people to love her. Only one would capture her heart, her sweetheart Bill Kinsley, whom she married in Iceland in 1968. Gréta was a woman of many talents: A singer, saxophone player, pianist and chef. She and Bill grew a family and moved to the United States in 1969 where she spent her years spreading her kindness and love. She was the queen of entertainment, from catering the most beautiful, immaculate food and desserts for local realtor events, to the grandest of holiday displays for family and friends. She was the life of the party when she worked at her daughter's establishment JT Maxies, and in every sense of the word became everyone's mom. Gréta was stunning. Age was no match for her beauty. She leaves behind a legacy of immense strength, wisdom and endless love to all. The memories we cherish will be accompanied by the sounds of her tickling the ivories, and the sentiments of her favorite tune ...

Gréta is survived by her children: Margrét Baggetta (James), Melísa Kinsley Gravelle (Terry Maddage), Marco Kinsley (Yolanda), and Dr. Melody Kinsley (Nathan Brimmer); grandchildren, Ashley Zatt (Justin), Chelsea Gravelle (Kristen), Timothy Gravelle, Hollie Kennedy (Daniel), Crystal, Collin, Cassidy & Carter Kinsley, and Sæþór Brimmer; great-grandchildren Jaxon, Olivia and Karson. Gréta is also survived by her loving family & friends in Iceland, and the Baggetta, Gravelle, Parella and Brimmer extended families. Gréta is predeceased by her mother (Margrét Þórarinsdóttir), father (Gísli Elís Einarsson), brother (Þórarinn Þ Gíslason), sister (Jósefína Guðrún), nephew (Gautur Ágúst Úlfarsson), niece (Margrét Þórarinsdóttir), nephew (Gísli Þór Þórarinsson), and grandson (Cameron William Kinsley).

There will be a Private viewing for the family and then a graveside service held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville on Tuesday January 9, 2024 at 1:30 pm where all are invited. After there will be a celebration of life held at Peddlers Bar and Bistro, 16 Old Rte 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 for her family and friends.
