SCHENECTADY- Jack N. Brown, 75, of Schenectady, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Niskayuna, and was the son of the late Robert and Charlotte White Brown.
Jack had served for over twenty years with New York State Army National Guard where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a carpenter with Local Union #370 in Albany for over fifty years and served as its President during the 1970's. Jack found great enjoyment in helping build the family camp in Lewis county. He also enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing and spending time with his cherished grandchildren. He was quick to assist his neighbors and to help others.
He was predeceased in 2000 by his wife, Doris Alheim Brown and in 2009 by his son Richard N. Brown.
Jack is the beloved father of Kimberly S. Carl and Douglas (Rebecca) Brown. He is the brother of Ronald Brown. He is the devoted grandfather of Hailey Deyo, Colleen Carl, Emily, Robert and Abigail Brown. He is the uncle of Randy Brown. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 11:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. To leave a special message for the family online, visit NewcomerAlbany.com
