Guilderland - Jack L. Plant, 85 passed away peacefully on August 15, 2018 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY.
He was born in Albany, NY and was the son of the late Ruth Townsend Plant.
Jack attended Philip Schuyler High School and later joined the U.S. Air Force and attended the flight academy. He worked for Verizon throughout his career and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He enjoyed radio-controlled aircraft, bowling and spending time with his family.
Jack was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Sylvia Sapsuzian Plant. They resided in Guilderland where they raised their three children.
He was the cherished father of Eric Plant, Lora (Brian) Chamberlain and Chad Plant. He was the proud grandfather of Brian and Kayleigh Chamberlain, Erica Plant and the late Lindsay Plant. He was predeceased by his brother Townsend (Virginia) Plant. He is survived by his sister-in-law Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday, August 20, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will take place Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road in Colonie, NY. Interment will follow at Memory Garden's Cemetery.
