CLIFTON PARK, NY – Jacqueline Van O'Linda Wing of Clifton Park, NY died August 28, 2006. Born in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Annie Fudger Van O'Linda. She graduated from Lynch High School, class of 1936 and attended the Schenectady Collegiate Center and Ellis Hospital Laboratory Technicians Training School. After graduating, she worked at Physician's Hospital in Plattsburgh for a year before returning to Amsterdam where she was employed for many years by Montgomery County Laboratories at Amsterdam and St. Mary's hospitals. A former girl scout leader and cub scout den mother, she was a past president of the Amsterdam Girl Scout Council, the Amsterdam Council of PTA's and the Junior Century Club, and a member of the Century Club. After the death of her husband, Dr. G. Robert Wing in 1960, she served as director of the Red Cross Montgomery Chapter for two years until leaving to join the editorial staff of the Amsterdam Evening Recorder, where she worked for nine years until leaving to move to Maryland. While living in Maryland, she was employed by South Arundel Veterinary Hospital for thirteen years until retiring. Prior to moving to Clifton Park in 1994, she worked part-time for Asthma Allergy Associates in Arnold, MD. She was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Calvin Van O'Linda in 1965. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Mrs. Daniel Noel) of Glens Falls and two sons, Brian J. Wing of Castleton and Glenn R. Wing of Hong Kong. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation and a family celebration of life will be private. Wing.
