James A. Zeccolo

WEST ALBANY – James "Shine" A. Zeccolo, 91, of West Albany passed away on Monday May 30, 2011 at the Inn of Community Hospice after a brief illness.
He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Giuseppe Zeccolo and Vincenza Barbiero Zeccolo. Jim had served with the US Army in the European Theatre during WWII. He was a self employed bread wholesaler for many years. Shine was a lifelong member of the West Albany Italian Benevolent Society and a Life Member of the West Albany Fire Department. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and an occasional visit to the casino.
He is the father of Joseph Zeccolo, Michael (Patricia) Zeccolo and James Zeccolo. Jim is the grandfather of Anna (Nathan) Zeccolo Reeves, Michele (Greg) Amyot, Heather and James Zeccolo. Great grandfather of Sofia Reeves. He is the brother of the late Louis Zeccolo, Pascal Zeccola, Mary Riley and Antoinette Zeccolo. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Albany Italian Benevolent Society, 50 Exchange Street, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of James A. Zeccolo.
