James Alund

Latham~

James Alund, 65, entered eternal life on January 17, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 14, 1953, Jim was the son of Joseph Whipple and Anne (Scaringe) Whipple. He was the devoted husband of Jill (Haluska) Alund. Loving father of Jimmy, Janey (Brian), and John. Dearest brother of William, Robert (Mary), Edward (Patty), Frank (JoEllen), and Barbara.

Jim was born and raised in Albany, N.Y., later residing in Latham with his family. He had wonderful memories during his time at St. Joseph's and Watervliet High School. After graduating from Siena College with an accounting degree, he became a highly regarded CPA for over 40 years at Walquist & Renodin, eventually heading the firm.

Jim loved nothing more than spending time at Babcock Lake with family and friends, where he served as Treasurer of the Babcock Lake Estates for many years. He was always eager to help others, offer advice, and enjoy a good game with the people he loved. We will always remember him sitting on the dock, taking in the view, and enjoying the sunshine.

A wake will be held on Thursday, January 24, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie from 4-8 PM. The funeral service will take place at St. Pius X Catholic Church (Loudonville) on Friday, January 25, at 10:30 AM. Burial to immediately follow at St. Agnes Cemetary, Menands.
