ALBANY- Jim Bardequez, 52, died January 11, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital Albany, NY after a long illness. Jim was born June 13, 1957 in Spanish Harlem in Manhattan to Audrey and Dolores "Jim" Bardequez.
He attended high school in New York City. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1974, after serving his country, he settled in Maine. He returned to New York State in 1987 with his family. He was a member of Wilborn Temple First Church of God in Christ in Albany NY and a member of the Colonie Elks 2192 in Latham NY.
Jim was a NYS Veteran's Representative and assisted many veterans over the years.
He later became a Training Specialist for at the NYS Department of Labor.
Jim was a league bowler and loved to travel. Jim enjoyed socializing and was well loved by friends and family.
Jim is survived by his wife Beverly Bardequez, his children, Nicolette (Jason) Sharp, Christopher and Michael Bardequez. Stepdaughters – Dina (Tracy) Ranellucci, Erinn (Floyd) Harkless, Nora Serriano. Grandchildren – Zachary, Cadence, Kealand, Gabriella, Tessa, and Lexus. Sisters Judith "JuJu" (Sam) Bardequez, Ivette, Denise, and brother James Bardeguez of Puerto Rico, Nephews – Benjamin and Daniel Fuentes. Aunt Carmen (Abe) Rodriguez, cousins Lisa Eggleston, Alec, and Katarina Kumpitsch. Great niece and nephwe, Kylie and Tyler Fuentes and a host of family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandmother Ereberta Reyes, father Dolores and mother Audrey Bardequez.
Calling Hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie and on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at Wilborn Temple, C.O.G.I.C., Jay Street. Albany. Funeral services will be offered at 10:30 on Friday morning at the Church. Interment will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.
