James Barker

TROY – James T. Barker, 56, of Troy, passed away at his home on Monday, April 10, 2006, after a long illness. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Tracy and Dorothy (Fitzgerald) Barker. Mr. Barker was a resident of Troy for 20 years. Until his illness, Jim worked for Brockway-Smith for 31 years. He was a member of the Polish American Club in South Troy. Jim is the beloved husband of 20 years to Laura J. Barker. He is the father of Laura A. Barker of Troy, James T. Barker of Cohoes, Pamela Frazier of Troy, Carol Cooke of Waterford and Elaine Burke of Troy. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. Mr. Barker was predeceased by his brothers, John L. and David T. Barker.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northeastern Association of the Blind, 301 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12203 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1234, Troy, NY 12180 in memory of James T. Barker.
