Schenectady, NY - James R. Bianchi, 83, passed away on May 9, 2017.
He born on January 29, 1934 to the Pasquale and Edna (Avery) Bianchi in Schenectady, NY.
James is survived by his son David R. Bianchi, granddaughters, Julie A. Bianchi, Gina M. Parker and husband Caleb, great granddaughter, Hannah D. Parker, brother-in-law, Tadeusz (Ted) Lukawski and wife Lori along with their two sons and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his wife Barbara and their eldest son Christopher J. Bianchi in March 2010.
James served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War era. After boot camp he was first stationed in Germany and then was sent to England where he soon met a young Barbara Lukawski who also had recently arrived in England with her family. They dated for over a year while he was stationed there. Upon news that he would be returning to the US they married in 1956 and then sailed the Atlantic once again and settled down to raise their family in Schenectady, NY.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 6:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, New York 12205. A funeral service will follow the calling hours starting at 7:00pm.
