James Frederick Booth, 85, born August 6, 1936 in Albany NY. James entered into rest on February 28th with his family by his side. James fought a long and courageous battle with cancer but stayed strong until the end.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of 61 years, sister Leah Egan (Phibbs), son Randal (Donna), daughter's Robin (Tony) DeMarco, Rachelle (Stephen) Hendrick, and grandchildren Danielle (Ken), Ryan, Eva, Courtney and 5 great grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his parents Raymond Sr. and Catherine (Leed), siblings Raymond Jr., Barbara and grandson Agostino.
James served in the Army National Guard and was a retired Teamster (Local 669) of 25 years at Mohawk Valley and 20 years at Troy Landscape Supply. James loved traveling the Caribbean with his wife and many friends, was an exceptional bowler at Sunset Lanes, was talented in landscape design and had a distinct attention for detail.
With a knack for storytelling, he could easily bring on a smile. He loved life to the fullest; he enjoyed entertaining and making sure, all had a good time. He touched many lives with joy and laughter but also had a quiet side. Jim was a great believer and close to Jesus. He was compassionate and cared very deeply about his family and friends. He enjoyed meditation and reading, and was a true lover of music. James will be missed but his memory will live on.
Visitation will be held at New Comer Funeral Home in Colonie on Monday March 7, 2022 from 4pm – 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, at 1 Maria Drive, Albany NY 12211 on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 10am – Family and Friends are to meet at the Church. Interment will follow at Memory's Garden Cemetery at 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany, NY 12205.
