Albany- James R. Campbell, 78, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. He was the son of the late Frank and Marjory Campbell. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Cynthia (Houting) Campbell.
Proudly born and raised in North Albany, Jim attended PS 20 and then Cardinal McCloskey Memorial High School (Class of '58). After graduating from Siena College in 1962 with a BS in Economics, Jim began his career at Keybank. He worked there 31 years and retired as VP of indirect lending. A Trustee Emeritus of Sacred Heart Church, Jim was also a member of the Latham Knights of Columbus, member of Siena Presidents Circle, and Saints Alive. Jim's biggest passion was Siena basketball, traveling to games near and far. He opened his heart and his home to all who wore the green and gold. His generosity to the program was unmatched.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his children, Carla M. Philippbar (Mark), Christopher J. Campbell (Crystal), Lauren M. Keena (Mike) and Jennifer E. McLaughlin (Tom). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew, Kieran, Aidan and Shannon. Jim also leaves behind his brother, Bruce F. Campbell (Mary Lou) and many extended family members.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet New York 12189. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 33 Walter St, Albany, NY 12204. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.
