Colonie- James J. Carroll "Jim", 55, passed away on September 21, 2022 at home with his family.
Born on October 2, 1966 son of David R. Carroll, Sr., and the late Barbara E. Carroll in Albany, NY.
Jim will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He was a great friend. He was outgoing, funny and loved to make others laugh and smile. Jim's most cherished memories that were those he spent making with his family. He loved visiting family in other states, family functions and genuinely being around the people he loved. He was an excellent giver of hugs and laughs.
Jim spent his 30 year career as a tractor trailer driver. He worked for John R. Mott, Inc. and most recently, The Blackburns US Mail Contractors. He enjoyed bowling on the Telephone Nationals Bowling League. Jim always looked forward to the family golf tournament every year and the cousins Saturday night poker games. He is a fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Kathleen Carroll; daughter, Stephanie K. Carroll (Derrick); father, David R. Carroll, Sr.; siblings, David Carroll Jr., Michael Carroll (Christine), Jeffrey Carroll (Melissa), Jennifer Andrelos (Adam); brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Sheila Athan, nieces and nephews, Joseph Carroll (Brunilda), David Carroll III., Benjamin Carroll, Alexander Andrelos and Annabelle Carroll and great-nephew, Benjamin Carroll Jr. and many other friends and extended relatives.
In addition to his mother he was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Betty Athan; nephew, Jeremy Carroll and niece, Allison Carroll.
Jim's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Jim's home health aide and friend, Rose Schuh, St. Peter's Hospital and the special people involved in his care for their kindness and compassion.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 9am-12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A service to celebrate Jim's life will begin at 12pm. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.
