James "Chico" Johnson

Albany, NY – James Johnson age 86 went to the Lord on April 21, 2016. Born August 25, 1929 in Summerton, SC son of the late Mary Johnson Dukes. Oldest of 2 siblings Doralee Jones & late Willhelmeina Bolden.
James moved to Albany in 1949. He served in the US Army (Korean War), worked for CDTA 25 years, where he retired. Survivors include his wife Lydia Johnson of 65 years, his four children James Johnson Jr. Renee Robinson-Ogunyase (Desmond), Joseph Johnson, Donna Boykin. 8 grandchildren, 7 great grand's.
Involvements: Mason Capital City Lodge # 78 Prince Hall, Elks Commando Lodge #1105, Elks IBPOEW American Legion, Cavaliars MP Unit #1406, Joseph E. Zaloga Post #1520, Kindred Spirits.
Celebration of his life and Legacy will be held at Metropolitan Church 105 2nd St. on April 28, viewing will be 9am-11am. Celebration service will begin at 11am at the church.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie, NY. Arrangements by New Comer Funeral Home.
