James Chiefari

James Chiefari, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at home with his loving family. 

James was born in Troy NY, the son of the late James and Louise Chiefari. 

James was the devoted husband of over 56 years to Janet Chiefari. 

He graduated from Troy High He worked at Bumstead Chevrolet for 27 years ending as Used Car Manager. He then ran his own dealership Chiefari Used Vehicles for 30 years. He loved motorcycles, cars, trains. He loved his farm and his cows and was the first licensed New York, Raw Milk Goat Dairy. 

James was a member and a communicant of Grace Fellowship Church, the Grafton Rescue Squad for 15 years and the Rutland Railway Association. 

He was predeceased by his daughter Amy (Chiefari) Ryan.

In addition to his wife Janet he is survived by his sons, Phillip J. (Nancy) Chiefari and Bobby (Maria) Chiefari. He is the grandfather of Sara, Katie Chiefari, Luke and Jake Ryan, Troy, Derek and Savannah Chiefari. He is the great grandfather of Evie. He is also survived by his siblings; Joseph Chiefari and Leonardo Chiefari.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY on Monday August 26, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will follow at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Eagle Mills Cemetery, Brunswick, NY.
