James Paul Cicardi, 89, of Guilderland NY, passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side on August 18, 2023.
James is survived by his loving wife Beverly (Sitterly) Cicardi, his daughter Sonya Cicardi (Don), his sons Michael Cicardi (Kimberley), Tracy Cicardi (Amy), Kelly Cicardi (deceased). James is also survived by his loving grandchildren Nicole, Zachary, Ralph, Matthew, Amanda, Brittany, Bo, Milo, Lucas, Adam, and Cole. His great-grandchildren Kendall, Carson, RJ, Nathan, Kayleigh, Lillian, Charlotte, and Kelly.
James was a kind, loving, honorable man who dedicated his entire life to his family, community and country. James was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. James also served his community for 27 years, working as a Lieutenant for the City of Albany, Fire Department.
James enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming. He taught his children how to live off the land. He especially looked forward to deer hunting with his sons, grandsons, and friends in Guilderland, Schoharie, and Cooperstown.
James's love of farming came from his childhood, growing up on a large 160 acre farm in Southern Illinois (Pinckneyville) with his parents Santo & Kathleen Cicardi, brothers; Joseph & Robert, and sisters Marilyn and Pat.
James was a great husband, father and grandfather. He will surely be missed by all of the folks that have ever had the pleasure and honor of knowing such a fine man.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday August 24, 2023 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY 12205. Interment will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
