ALTAMONT – James D. "Harm" Hoffman, 45, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Utica, he was the son of Maureen Saladino and the late James G. Hoffman.
Jim worked for Conrail/CSX Transportation for 18 years prior to his illness. He was a member of BLE Local #867. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends in New York and Florida.
Along with his mother, he is survived by his brother Chris.
A special thank you goes to the staff and doctors of Brigham & Womens/Dana Farber Hospitals in Boston, and the caring staff at St. Peter's Hospice Inn, as well as all of the support received from family and close friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Avenue, Albany. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 pm in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Clinton, NY. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Peter's Hospice Inn, 315 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 in Jim's name.
