GUILDERLAND—James D. Riviello, 76, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 29th at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born in New York City, a son of the late Vito and Violet Riviello. Jim worked as an estimator for New York State. He enjoyed acting in many plays throughout the Capital District and was very active in the Roust About Players. He enjoyed painting and drawing. Jim was well known for his wit and humor and truly enjoyed making others laugh. He was an avid sports fan and was always rooting for his Mets. He played baseball, softball, bowling and golf. His passion was for his family, the joy of his life.
Survivors include his devoted children, Valerie Riviello, James (Kathy) Riviello and Elizabeth (Marcus) Holmes; adoring grandchildren, Brianne, Abigail, Andrew, Ashley, Taylor, Morgan, Amanda, Joseph and Rahshek; Brother, Robert (Melinda) Riviello; nieces and nephews, Norah, Jordan and Zachary; special companion, Mary Tomaso; and many relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave. Interment to follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited and may call the New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.), Sunday evening from 4 to 7 pm.
The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather at 4:30 pm for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome.
