GUILDERLAND – James David Kirby, 79, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 8, 2007.
Born in Effingham, SC and was the son of the late David and Frances Smith Kirby. He was also predeceased by his sister, Kadie V. Kirby Carter.
James served his country for 21 years in the US Army, retiring in 1973. He continued serving at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany, retiring in 2000. He received two purple hearts during his 47 years of dedicated service to the Government of the United States of America.
James leaves behind his loving wife, Elnora Isaac Kirby of 40 years; a son, Raynard G. Kirby and a daughter, Yolanda Kirby, both of Albany and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held at Waterford Wesleyan Church, 75 Grace St. in Waterford on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Paul Barna, with repast following the service.
