James Destevens

April 20, 1952 — September 26, 2013

Albany – James N. DeStevens, 61, passed away Thursday September 26, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fulton he is the son of Nicholas and Theresa DeStevens. James worked for the NYS Dept. of Social Services as a Computer Program Analyst for 24 years. He loved to travel, read, and cook for his family and friends.

James is survived by his wife of 26 years Janet (Kolodich) DeStevens, and son Devin DeStevens. He is also survived by his siblings; Deborah DeStefano, Kevin DeStefano, and Richard DeStefano.

Contributions may be made in James' name to The Community Hospice of Albany,295 Valley View Blvd. Rensselaer, NY 12144. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Roberta Miller, Community Hospice, and The Eddy for their extraordinary care of James during his illness.

A memorial service for James will be held on Sunday September 29th at 2 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.) A calling hour will precede the service from 1 p.m. – 2p.m.
