James Dobson

CLIFTON PARK – James Dobson, 50, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, with his loving family by his side. Born in Newark, NJ he was raised in Cedar Grove NJ where he lived for nineteen years. Jim served his country for six years in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was recently working for Empire Merchants North. As a child, Jim was a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Sea Scout. He loved helping other people. Jim was the "Ultimate Boy Scout."

Jim is the beloved son of Ceciel Rosenstein and the late William Dobson. He is the devoted father of Annelise Dobson. He is the cherished longtime companion of Debbie DuBois and her extended family. Jim is the loving brother of Timothy Dobson, Cynthia Meilands and the late William Dobson. He is the nephew of Janet Christy. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, Annelise's mother, Teresa and James' stepson, Daniel Dahoda.


Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A Funeral Service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Annelise Dobson Benefit Account College Fund at any Trustco Bank branch.
