James P. Donnelly

James P. Donnelly, 82, husband of Eileen P. Donnelly (McQuade) previously of Upper Nyack, New York passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 at his home in Mechanicville, NY.

Born June 22, 1942 in Ridgewood, NY he was the son of the late John and Kathleen Donnelly.

James attended Aviation High School in Queens, NY and graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, NY in 1960. He then served in the United States Air Force from 1961 – 1965. He later worked as a Telecommunications engineer for Hertz, SCM and Chase Manhattan Bank. James was active in the Nyack/Valley Cottage Little League managing teams for many years bringing his love and knowledge of baseball to many in the community. After retirement James stayed active in the community including volunteering for Meals on Wheels in Saratoga County.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Eileen and his 3 sons Matthew and his wife Elizabeth of Milford, Delaware, Christopher and his wife Diane of Suffern, NY; Brian and his wife Danielle and their 2 daughters Shea and Keegan of Niskayuna, NY. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews.

Friends may call, Tuesday March 25th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karmer Road, Colonie, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Church of Saint Clare, 1947 Central Ave, Albany, NY. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, 1389 Central Ave, Colonie, NY.
