COLONIE-James J. Doyle, 68, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Friday September 28, 2007 at his residence surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Jim is the beloved son of Ellen and the late Charles. He had served in the US Navy. Jim worked for 36 years at the LaSalle School for Boys, retiring as Director of Maintenance and Facilities. He was a golf ranger at the Briar Creek Golf Course. Jim was dedicated to his family and will be remembered as a kind and hardworking man. He was an avid golfer.
He is the dedicated husband of 45 years to Effie. He is the devoted father of Jay Doyle (Mary Beth), Joel Doyle (Jen) and Joi Rumbaugh (Mike). He is the brother of Thomas Doyle and the late John Doyle. He is the loving Poppy to Jacob, James, Ryan and Isabel. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:00 at St. Paul the Apostle Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Memorial contributions may be made to LaSalle School for Boys, 391 Western Ave. Albany NY 12203 or St. Paul the Apostle Church 2762 Albany Street, Schenectady, NY 12304 in memory of James J. Doyle.
