James E. Peer

COLONIE, NY – James E. Peer, 88, passed away on Saturday, January 08, 2011. Born in Glenville, NY he was the son of the late John and Jennie Peer. He attended schools in Schenectady and Scotia then worked for Sears as an appliance technician. Jim was a volunteer for the Smoky Mountains National Park in NC, Christian Appalachian Project in KY, Habitat for Humanity and St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Mr. Peer enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling. Jim is the beloved husband of over fifty years to Antoinette V. Peer. He is the devoted father of Catherine, Carol, Peter, Heidi, Martin, Gretchen, Kristina and Kees. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Memorial Services on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 49 Killean Park, Albany, NY 12205, Habitat for Humanity, 454 North Pearl St., Menands, NY 12204 or to the charity of one's choice in memory of James E. Peer.
