James Edward Lenney

James E. Lenney, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at his home. He was born November 11, 1924 in Pottsdam, NY. He moved to the Albany area when he was twenty and started a painting and wallpapering business. He continued on to be the building inspector for the City of Albany where he would later retire. James was predeceased by his wife, Olive Bowen, his son, David Jerome, his sisters, Ann and Gwen and his brother, Tom.
James is survived by his son, James Patrick Lenney; he is the beloved grandfather of Patrick Lenney, Kimberly Baker and Kristopher Lenney. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, his brother David Lenney and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-South of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 9 to 10 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
