COLONIE, NY – James F. Richburg, 88, of Colonie, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jersey Shore, PA, he was the son of the late John and Susan Richburg. Mr. Richburg was a resident of Colonie for 57 years. Jim was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps serving his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He worked for W. H. Smith Paper Corporation from where he retired after 35 years of service. Mr. Richburg was an avid vegetable gardener and a New York Mets fan. Jim is the beloved husband of 57 years to Janet M. Kabrehl Richburg. He is the devoted father of Janice A. (Patrick) Comly, Jean P. (John) Rockenstire, Judy S. (Richard) Greg, James C. (Cynthia) Richburg, Joyce L. (Edward) Kays and the late Joan E. Richburg. He is the cherished grandfather of Christopher and Gregory Comly, Jay, Jill, Jerry and LCpl Johnny Rockenstire, USMC, James W. Richburg and Stephanie Kays. Jim is the brother of Eleanor Asprion, Bess Klett, Helen Carlino, Susan Schultz, Vernon Richburg and the late John, George and Howard Richburg and Ann Mincer. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 or the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of James F. Richburg.
