ALBANY – James T. Girzone passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2006 with his devoted wife Sandra at his side. The son of the late Jeanne and Cosmo Girzone, Jim lived his lifetime in Albany, having recently retired from the University Auxiliary Services at SUNY Albany. As an avid golfer and fisherman, Jim sought all that the great outdoors afforded. Most passionate, however, were Jim's commitments to the Knights of Columbus and the sport of bowling. A lifetime high game of 289, and the appointment to Grand Knight of Council 173 were amongst Jim's proudest moments. In addition to his loving wife of 22 years, Jim's family included his sisters, Deanna Leis and Christine Raybine, his brother-in-law Kenneth, niece Deborah and special family friend, Dorothy Mondun. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Albany Dialysis Center and the ICU staff of Albany Medical Center for all of the kind and caring attention they gave to Jim.
Relatives and friends are invited to share in a calling hour on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Together we will let Jim know how much he is loved, and that one day, "In A Minute", we will see him again. In lieu of flowers, kindly honor Jim's courageous battle with diabetes with donations in his name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, VA 22038-1132.
