James Heffernan

COLONIE-James P. Heffernan Jr., 53 of Colonie, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday September 9, 2005 at Ellis Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late James and Geraldine Heffernan Sr.
Jim was a 1970 graduate of Colonie Central High School. He was a Parts manager for several automobile dealers , most recently at Orange Motors in Albany. Along with his wife Lynn, Jim operated the former Midway Kwik Shop in Colonie for nine years. He was a talented drummer having played with several local bands throughout the area.
He is the beloved husband of 32 years to Lynn Anderson Heffernan. He is the devoted father of James P. Heffernan III and Jennifer Heffernan. Grandfather of Kelsey, Kamryn and Zachary. He is the brother of the late Daniel P. Keon. He is also survived by several brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd.
