ALBANY, NY – James J. Finn, 90, passed away on Friday, February 06, 2009, with his loving family by his side. Born in Greenfield, MA, he was the son of the late Frank and Alice Finn. He graduated from Cathedral Academy. Jim was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge. He worked for over 40 years at McArdle & Casazza Trucking. Jim then went to work for Williams Press and Albany Garage from where he retired. Mr. Finn was a life member of the Sheehy Palmer V.F.W. Post #6776. Jim was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy M. Machaffie Finn. He is the devoted father of Patricia Finn Dziamba of Rensselaer, Joan C. Finn of Watervliet, Terrence A. Finn of Arkansas, Mary E. Finn of Colonie and the late James J. Finn, Jr. and Rory Finn. He is the brother of Alice Walace of Altamont. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's St. Ann's Church, 4th Avenue @ Franklin St., Albany. Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 in memory of James J. Finn.
