SCHENECTADY- James E. Lawrence, 84, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2022 at his home.
Born on August 6, 1937 son of the late James V. and Leonta (Smith) Lawrence in Schenectady, NY.
He graduated from Nott Terrace High School and attended Union College and Syracuse University. Mr. Lawrence was an oil company salesman, a public relations representative for a soft goods manufacturer and a freelance model for four years in New York City making lasting connections in the fashion industry. This led to the opening of Regalia Boutique on November 4, 1969. Mr. Lawrence operated Regalia for over 35 years bringing high fashion and glamour to Schenectady.
He is survived by his beloved wife Carole Lawrence and their daughter Julie.
Funeral services will be private.
