James M. Gavin, Sr.

Albany - James M. Gavin Sr., 62, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 16th at his home. James was the son of the late Joseph Gavin and Gladys Gavin. James was the husband of 34 years to the late Diane Gavin whom he loved more than anything. After losing Diane last year, James found it hard to live in a way. Living with a broken heart was too much to bear.

James was the brother and best friend to the late Johnny Gavin.

James is survived by his loving children, James Gavin Jr., Dorothy (Cardona), and Michael Gavin, and his three grandchildren, Antonio, Augusto and Luciano. His children will always remember him for the pic imprint in his back jean pocket, for being a great listener and for not only loving their mother but worshipping her
.
James worked at the DMV for 28 years, and made many friends whom he enjoyed over the years.

James was known to his friends as "Gavi" and loved to listen to music and have a good time, and those that know him know he had a lot of good times. James requested that his children have a party in his honor after he passes. So his children will be holding a gathering at the Gavin residence on Saturday August 27th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. Friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate his life in true Gavi fashion.
