James E. Matulewicz, 70, departed from this earth on Friday, September 4, 2020 at his home with his loving wife by his side.
James was born and raised in the Guilderland area and was the only son of the late Edward Matulewicz and Alfreda Matulewicz.
He graduated from Guilderland High School in 1968 and started a career at Walter Motor Truck. He was then drafted into the Army in 1969. After serving 2 years with the Army he began driving tractor trailers for Roadway. He went on to begin in a career in the Air Force and worked Life Support at the Stratton Air National Guard until his retirement in 1997.
He then had a small construction business, until retiring completely.
James loved trap shooting and was a member of the Watervliet Rod & Gun Club. He also was a lover of vintage automobiles.
James was survived by his devoted wife Lori S. (Sinkway) Matulewicz. He is also survived by three children from his first wife, James S. of Altamont, NY, Joseph of Vacaville, California and his daughter Wendy of Altamont, NY. In addition he is survived by four grandchildren.
Burial service will be private and he will be interned with his parents at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Guilderland Animal Shelter, 6363 Frenchs Mill Rd, Altamont, NY 12009 in James memory.
