James L. Mayer

James Mayer, 79, passed away on June 18, 2022. He was born in Albany on October 20, 1942 to the late Harold and Olive Mayer.
Jim spent most of his life in the beer industry, starting out at Shaefer Brewery and finishing his career at Keis and Ruch Distributors. He spent his free time watching sports, especially the NY Yankees. He was fond of watching old movies, mostly Westerns, from the comfort of his recliner.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Isabel, son James (Mara) Mayer and daughter Christine (Joe) Carhart. He is the beloved Poppy of Billy (Hayley) Mayer, Daniel Mayer, James Mayer, Megan Carhart and Alyssa Carhart. He is also survived by his twin sister Jackie (Mike) Russell.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday June 21st, from 4pm-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie NY 12205. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 22nd at 10:30am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens.
