ALTAMONT-James W. McIntyre, Sr., passed away on January 12, 2018 in Florida with his family.
James was born on October 27, 1937 son of the late James H. and Florence McIntyre.
James was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed at GE in Schenectady for many years. He relocated with his wife to Florida in 1996 after his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, E. Ruth McIntyre; children, Susan (Bob) Stark, William E. (Gen) McIntyre, Timothy J. McIntyre, Joseph M. McIntyre; son-in-law, Mitchell Russell; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild, 2 sisters, 1 brother and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jim was predeceased by his children, James W. McIntyre, Jr., Ruthanne Russell, John Frances McIntyre and David James McIntyre and his brother, Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11am. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. A graveside service will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
