Niskayuna- James "Jim" Moore, 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on August 19, 2018 at his home. The son of the late John R. and Patricia E. (Ganser) Moore, Jimmy was born on April 27, 1962 in Albany, NY.
Jim worked for Pier 1 Imports for five years prior to being a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He recently retired after 34 years of service where he formed many friendships. Jimmy loved T.V. game shows, especially The Price is Right and nostalgic shows. He was also the producer of the local public access cable network shows, Screen Scenes from 1985 to 1995 and Media Zone from 1995 to 2018. He loved his cat, Cuddles who predeceased him.
Jimmy also traveled with and provided support including, driving the bus, running lights and setting up the stage for the band Stuck on Stupid. He also enjoyed vacationing with friends and trying his luck at the casinos. Jimmy was also proud of his 1983 Trans Am replica of Knight Rider's Kitt which he converted and drove.
Jimmy was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a very giving and generous person. There wasn't anything he would not do to help someone. He was loved by everyone he met and will not be forgotten, because he will live on in everyone's hearts.
Jimmy is survived by his brother, Kevin (Mary Ann) Moore; his niece, Trisha (John); his nephew, Sean; his great niece, Emma and his great nephew, Jack. He is also survived by several cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be from 2pm to 5 pm on Sunday, August 26 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A brief memorial service will be held at 5 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jimmy's name to The Community Hospice, Gift Processing Center, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
