Colonie – James J. O'Connor, 79, passed away Wednesday April 13, 2011.
James "Jim" was born in New York, NY the son of the late James and Mary (Bowen) O'Connor. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War and worked for Equitable Life Insurance Co. for 38 years. Jim was Fourth Degree with Knights of Columbus and a long time member of the Wantagh Fire Department on Long Island, where he and his family lived for many years.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Frances, their children Loretta (David) Orlando and Kevin (Janet) O'Connor, grandchildren: Tara (Mark Salvati), Joseph and Brian O'Connor, Kyle, Connor and Kerri Orlando, great-grandchildren Giulianna and Christian, sister Maureen Lane and many other loving family member and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday 8:30am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to St. Clare's Church, 1947 Central Ave. Colonie where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00am. Calling hours will be Sunday 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
