James "Nick" Palmer, 72, of Selkirk, passed away on September 8, 2023 at Albany Medical Center.
He was born in Cuba, NY December 17, 1950 to John and Nancy (Casterline) Palmer.
Nick worked for Titan homes and Walmart Distribution Center for 20 years each respectively. He was a proud volunteer firefighter for both Waterville FD and Springfield Center, where he was also an EMT. He was an avid camper, he liked playing horseshoes and he enjoyed listening to 60's era music. He was a big fan of the Buffalo Bills.
Born and raised in New York, Nick and his wife transferred to Arizona where they enjoyed 14 years before coming back to be with their family here. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and dance recitals. Nick was kind and had a great sense of humor, he was instantly loved by all who met him.
He was predeceased by his brother John "Skip" Palmer and stepmother Esther Palmer Jones.
Nick is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Colleen, children Christopher (Tracey), Nicole (Ryan), Emily (Mark), grandchildren Natalie (Errict), Chase, Dylan, Rylee, Chad, Gianna, Nicholas, Cole, Nathan and great grandson James. He is also survived by his brothers Michael (Patti) and Scott (Sally), as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 13th from 4pm-6pm with a service to follow at 6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, New York.
