James Pauline was called home on March 10, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. James was the son of the late Annie Willingham Dabney and Willie Pauline. James was born in Southport, SC, raised in Albany NY. James served in the United States Air Force from 1950 - 1956 after being honorably discharged James worked the railroad company and several other jobs before retiring from Wassaic Developmental Center, in Wassaic, NY. He loved horse shows and traveling. He would often catch the train before he got his license, with donuts and cider in hand to visit his daughters. James leaves to mourn his loving daughters, Helen Pauline of Portsmouth, Va., Therese Ann Pauline of Atlanta Ga. His brother Walter Dabney of Albany NY. James was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Damien (Candi) of VA, Johnnie, Dana (Vashon), El' Shariem, El'Shatiek, El'Shamir, Richard, and Shayron, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, special aunt, Juanita Willingham niece, Lavonia Acacio , God-brother, William McDuffie, Godson, James Fishcher Jr. of Vt., and his special friends Mr. and Mrs James Fischer Sr. of Amenia, NY. James was predeceased by the 'love of his life and mother of his daughters,' Morriscenia Owens, brother Roosevelt Pauline, two sisters Emily and Barbara Ann Dabney, 2 favorite uncles, Adam (Doc) Willingham, Benjamin (Ben) Willingham (Margaret), special niece, Sharee' Pauline, special friend Carol Poisman who played a major role in his family lives. James is also survived by a host of many nieces, nephews' cousins and friends that he encountered throughout his life's journey. A very heartfelt thanks to his caregivers during James transition home, Dana, Vashon, El'Shariem and El'Shatiek.
Calling hours and services will be on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Mount Olive Baptist Church, N. Pearl Street, Albany, viewing 10 am - 12:00 pm, service 12:00 pm, repass at the Church immediately following the service. Burial will be private at a later date.
