ROTTERDAM, NY – James R. Nadler, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Schenectady on May 27, 1931, he was the son of the late George and Marian (Cox) Nadler. Jim graduated from Draper High School then served in the U.S. Navy for four years aboard the U.S.S. Sperry. After his discharge from the Navy, he met Yolanda Campolieto and they were married on July 1, 1956. Jim worked for thirty-five years at the Schenectady Post Office. He also worked for ten years as a bus driver for the Schalmont Central School District. After his retirement, he and his wife moved to Gardnerville, NV living there for ten years before moving back to Schenectady. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his brothers, Charles and George Nadler, his sisters, Elizabeth Nadler and Doris Ebert and his great-grandson, Logan Nadler. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Yolanda M. Nadler. He is the devoted father of James Jr., Scott, Dale (Janet), Lisa and Tod. He was loved by his sixteen grandchildren and his three great-grandchildren. He is the brother of William Nadler and Virginia Rivadenerra. Also surviving are his daughters-in-law, Tina, Maria and Patty Nadler. The family would like to thank the staff of Community Hospice of Schenectady for all of the care and support given to Jim during his illness.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of James R. Nadler.
