James Daniel Reed

Clifton Park - James Daniel Reed, 57, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 with his loving family by his side. James was the son of William Reed and the late Joann (Maselli) Reed. James was the devoted husband to Linda (Havrish) Reed. They were married 34 years.

As a proud Navy Seabee Veteran, Jim served his country attached to NMCB7, Gulfport, MS, serving duty in Guam and Greece; receiving several letters of appreciation for his outstanding performance of duties.

He attended Hudson Valley Community College. He was employed at Momentive Inc. and the former GE Silicones in Waterford, NY as a Shift Chemical Control Operator. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing with his grandkids and also doing his hobby woodworking projects. Jim and his wife, Linda especially enjoyed their many annual Caribbean Cruises throughout their time together. Together they also enjoyed eating out at their favorite restaurants regularly and enjoyed many camping adventures.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his sons, Robert and Nicholas and his daughter, Jessica (Troy) Clay of North Carolina, and his grandchildren, Gin and Riley. He is also survived by his three awesome brothers, David, Nicholas and Eric (Hyla) Reed and also many loving relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, with a funeral service held at 11:30 am. Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels. Interment will immediately follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy at 1:00 pm.
