McKOWNVILLE - James T. Wilson, 88, of McKownville, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 12, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Albany.
He was born in Albany and was the son of the late James T. and Jessie A. Roberts Wilson Sr. Jim was proud to have enlisted in the US Navy on December 8, 1942 and proudly served his country during WWII. He was a Master mechanic and managed King's Shell Service Station in McKownville for thirty years. More recently, Jim was the Water Treatment Plant Operator for the Town of Guilderland. A Lifetime Member and Past Assistant Chief, Jim dedicated himself for 60 years to the McKownville Fire Dept. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed traveling and gardening. Jim and his wife Lillian spent many joy filled years wintering in Pompano Beach, FL. He will be remembered as a man of high integrity, selflessness and a combination of strength and kindness.
Jim is the beloved husband of 67 years to Lillian O'Brien Wilson. He is the devoted father of Dr. Susan Wilson O'Brien (Frank Treybal), Brian (Julie) Wilson, Barbara Wilson (Robert) Keller and James T. (Meg) Wilson III, M.D. He is the cherished grandfather of Shelby (Ryan) Moore, Molly, Jessica and Ben Wilson, Lindsey and Owen Miller. He is also survived by many dear brothers and sisters in law.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 9:00 am at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead Ave., Albany. There will be no calling hours.
