James M. Tarantino, beloved husband, father, and grandad passed away suddenly December 31, 2020. Born July 26, 1952 in Glens Falls, NY to Ernest and Mary Tarantino, James spent his childhood growing up in Salem, NY where his parents owned a grocery store. After graduating from SUNY Cobleskill he moved to Albany and began working for NYS Energy Office and later NYSERDA. It was during his softball playing days that he met his wife, Susan. James and Susan had just celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary October 1, 2020. Some of his best stories and memories involve travel and adventurers with a host of good friends. James wore many hats including amazing husband, excellent dad, super star grandad, friend, girl scout troop leader, project manager, ENYCAR guy, vacation planner and tour guide, garage sale czar, world's worst speller, sudoku and jigsaw puzzle master, and overall just a great guy. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, traveling, and most importantly spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be missed, loved, and remembered with a smile by many, many people.
He is survived by his wife Susan Tarantino, daughters Juliet and Maura, son in law Jesse, two grandchildren Isaiah and Kadesh, brother Angelo, sister in law Gail, nieces Anjinette, Mandi, and Alicia, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial will be planned for Spring 2021 in honor and celebration of James' life. In lieu of flowers please feel free to make a donation to the American Heart Association.
