ALBANY – James A. Thompson, lovingly known as "Redcap", entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 28, 2013. Born on August 19, 1934 in Comer, AL he was the son of the late Mary Johnson and Lester Thompson. He was employed for many years as an agricultural tech for Webb's Farm.
He leaves to cherish his memory five children: Betty (Stewart Reggie) Thomas, Andrew Thomas and Bruce Thomas, all of Albany, NY, Rodney Thomas of Midway, AL and Kevin Thompson of Milwaukee, WI; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Johnson; two brothers, Richard Johnson and Samuel (Earlene) Cade and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jessie, Perlie and Leroy Cade and Robert Johnson.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at the Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 513 Clinton Ave., Albany. A calling hour will precede the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albany. The family will receive callers at the church following the interment at the cemetery.
