James E. Van Epps

Colonie- James E. Van Epps, 77, passed away at his home on October 8, 2017. The son of the late Lillian J. Van Epps and Wilmer Miner, he was born on November 16, 1939 in Rensselaer, NY. Jim served in the US Air Force. Jim worked for NY Telephone for more than 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was well known in his neighborhood and always had a treat for the passing dogs. Jim liked to try his luck with the NY lottery.
Jim is survived by his close friends and neighbors, Frank and Teri Blake, Jr. and their children, Marissa "Riss", Makayla "Pal" and Frankie "Boom Botz."
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 16 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Burial will follow at Blooming Grove Cemetery, North Greenbush.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jim's name to Shriner's Hospital for Children, C/O Cyprus Shriners, PO Box 12473, Albany, NY 12212.
