James W. Curfman, 90, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2013 at Community Hospice Inn, Albany.
James was raised in Newton, Illinois, the son of the late James and Ethel Curfman. James proudly served in the United States Army as a Demolition Specialist during WWII. He worked as an Urban Planner for the State of Illinois with the Geological Survey department; for Tennessee State with the Planning Commission and then with New York State in Albany until his retirement in 1987.
James was a member of the VFW Post 8692 in Albany and with West Albany Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed going to the Track in Saratoga, Poker games with his dear friends, Vince Stallone and Dr. Robert Jordan, being part of football pools, beating anyone in checkers and spending time at Blessings Tavern.
James is survived by his beloved children; Gail DeCelle, Carol (Skip) Noxon and Linda Swift. He is the proud grandfather of Anita (James) Tenant, Courtney (Jeff) Thomas, Daniel Swift and Kelly (Matthew) Reynolds. He is also survived by his cherished great grandchildren, Karen, Rachel, David, Madison, Abigail, Hannah, Hunter, Gavin and Caitlyn.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 12:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Memory Gardens.
