James J. Wittemer

North Greenbush - James J. Wittemer, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Jim was the son of the late James and Mary Wittemer. Jim was the devoted husband to Nancy Wittemer. They were married for 56 years. 

Jim worked for Williams Press in Menands. He later worked for New York State until his retirement. 

Jim enjoyed spending time with his family. 

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his daughters, Mary and her husband Ed Lawton of Merritt Island FL and Susan Rivers (Patrick Beals) of Cohoes, NY; and 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Kayla, Alex and Julia.

A calling hour will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189 on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 11am to 12pm. Burial will follow the service at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, New York. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jim's name to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204, Or the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
